Overcomers Outreach is a well-known Christian self-help ministry that sponsors 12 step groups for alcoholics and drug abusers: www.overcomersoutreach.org.
Hazelden Foundation
Hazelden Foundation is a non-profit organization providing rehabilitation, professional services, and publications in chemical dependency and related disorders: http://www.hazelden.org.
For Alcoholic Anonymous (AA) Groups (secular)
Your pastor, doctor or the social services in your area should be able to tell you how to find and contact a local AA group. Or you can get information from the AA web site at http://www.alcoholics-anonymous.org/.
For Al-Anon and Alateen
If your life is affected by somebody else's drinking check Al-Anon and Alateen at: http://www.al-anon.alateen.org/
For Individual Counseling/Therapy
If you live in North America call the Narramore Christian Foundation at 1-800-477-5893 and press "1" for Mary and ask her for the name of a Christian counselor in your area.
Free Lay Counseling
You can get free lay counseling by calling 714-New-Hope (714-639-4673) which is a service of the Crystal Cathedral in Southern California. Or you can receive live counseling online at http://www.newhopenow.org/counseling/liveperson.html
Teenline Counseling: Also from the Crystal Cathedral, Teenline lay counselors are available (without charge) on the chat room Monday through Friday between the hours of 5 and 9 PM (California Time).
